As a Humanistic Counsellor and Psychotherapist, my core belief is that we, human beings, are basically healthy.
However, as we go through life, we often develop patterns of thoughts, behaviours and emotions that no longer serve us as well as we would like.
I provide an open, safe and supportive space that recognises that the relationship between me and you, my client, is significant in creating conditions for growth.
I work holistically with you as you are present.
Together, with practice and awareness, we collaboratively explore your unhelpful patterns with the aim of developing new, more beneficial ways of being. In this way, I intend to support you in taking charge of shaping your own life and reaching your full human potential.
In my work, I draw on a variety of humanistic models, including Gestalt (working with awareness) and Formative Psychology (how we shape our experience).
I also use the intuitive ideas of Beyond Chocolate when working with clients with an eating disorder.
I am also an experienced Chartered Physiotherapist and Movement Specialist (Pilates, Gyrotonic, Gyrokinesis, Feldenkrais) and often draw on these experiences when working as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist, particularly when exploring the links between the physical, psychological and emotional elements of a specific issue, for example anxiety, panic attacks, insomnia, depression or grief.
I am bilingual and offer sessions in English and French.
I have undertaken extensive training in Humanistic Psychotherapy at Spectrum (Centre for Humanistic Psychology and Member of the UKCP) since 2009.
I have worked as a Counsellor and Psychotherapist for the NHS.
Whatever your personal circumstances the Centre for Therapy aims to help put you in touch with a therapist that can help.
