I am a qualified person-centred counsellor specialising in bereavement, loss, low self-esteem and low self-confidence.
I used to struggle with confidence and was a quiet and shy person as a result. I have had eczema throughout my life and found it most difficult in my teen years which also affected by self-esteem.
I wrote about some of my experiences in the article ‘Living with eczema’.
When I became more confident I noticed I was able to talk to more people more easily and do things out of my comfort zone.
Later I went through a divorce and lost my beloved pet and the house I had made a home in a short space of time.
This rocked me and having counselling helped me to understand my losses and to make sense of it all. This in turn helped me to start again.
I became a counsellor because I wanted to help people who were struggling in life as I had done and to be there in the difficult times as support. I love my job because I get to meet wonderful people and see them grow.
I am a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy also known as BACP.
I am fully insured and DBS checked.
I am also registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
I hold a Diploma in Person-Centred Counselling and Psychotherapy and have been volunteering with a National Bereavement Charity for a few years.
Losing a loved one can feel like your world has turned upside down. It can feel painful and you may feel anger, guilt, sadness or perhaps relief.
You may have been their carer and now not only have you lost them but also your role and perhaps your purpose.
If you lived with them, perhaps home feels empty now or brings up a lot of sadness. It may feel difficult being in a specific room or the house in general.
You may feel like the death isn’t real, feels surreal and that the person may walk through the door at any moment.
Their death may have been sudden or unexpected and you feel in a state of shock, not understanding what has happened and you may have unanswered questions.
Grief can make us feel many different emotions and feelings. We all grieve differently even if we have had a similar upbringing.
The important thing to note is that there is no right or wrong way to grieve.

I offer a free introductory session for 50 minutes to see if we will be a good fit for each other.
Sessions will be online or by phone, whichever suits you best. I allow you the space to explore what you would like at your own pace with understanding and support without giving advice.
I can offer open-ended counselling so there is no limit to how many sessions we have.
I have no waiting list so I can start with you straight away if that is what you would like to do.
Sessions are usually weekly but if you would prefer fortnightly I can do that too.
£40.00 for 50-minute session
Tuesdays from 6:30pm
Thursdays from 6pm
