Christina Marsden

I am experienced and fully qualified in Psychotherapy & Counselling.

I have 21 years of experience in counselling, working with individuals, couples and groups. I have also worked extensively with individuals in a health and social care setting.

This has included vulnerable adults, children and families.

I offer a personal and working knowledge of a safe authentic therapeutic relationship.

Health and Social Care

I have extensive experience working with individuals in the Health and Social Care Field.

This included twelve years within the field of addiction working as a Drug and Alcohol Treatment Worker within Criminal Justice settings, working peripatetically between Probation Office’s, Prison’s and Community Based Services.

An open, honest and inclusive approach to therapy

I gained vast knowledge and experience related to individuals from all walks of life, recognising issues that impact on communities, separate from substance use and misuse.

My approach is inclusive, open and honest.

I believe if we understand ourselves and our relationships, we can lead a healthier life.

Addiction, Anxiety, Depression and Panic Disorder

I have knowledge and expertise in couples work, Addiction, Anxiety, Depression, Panic Disorder, Bereavement and self-esteem.

I am willing to discuss at referral if you are unsure or have not seen your specific issue listed.

You can refer by contacting me by telephone or by email whichever mode of contact suits you, so you can ascertain if I am the right therapist for you.

Are you feeling overwhelmed?

There are occasions in life when you may feel overwhelmed, overcome or mixed up.

I believe Psychotherapy and Counselling offers a confidential space for you at your own pace to build a trusting therapeutic relationship.

Safely enabling you to understand how you relate to others.

This can help you to recognise, behavioural patterns that may not be useful in the here and now.

Through this therapeutic relationship, you can also gain an understanding of yourself and acquire new insight and self-compassion.

Building trust and resilience in self.

I offer Imago Relationship Therapy

I offer Imago Relationship Therapy to couples online via Zoom to any location.

Imago is a theory of relating where the couples’ safety and connection is paramount to this approach.

It uses a way of communication which is very structured to enable you as a couple to discuss the most difficult aspects of your relationship.

This enables you to take this way of communicating outside therapy, finding the precious time in your busy lives to nurture your relationship.

I have a passion for working with couples, I am both privileged and humbled to be a therapist.

I bring my own limitations and own them honestly within my work.

I will stay in your process and show compassion to your individual circumstances.

Contact via Zoom

I currently run my practice via Zoom.

Prior to this, the Counselling services I have been a member of, have been in GP surgeries, Hospitals, Women’s Refuge and Family Centres, Providing Psychotherapy and Counselling to Individuals, Couples and Groups.
