You may feel overwhelmed by your problems, but all problems, big or small, have a solution.

With years of experience in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, I use this effective approach to help people sort out their difficulties and improve their quality of life. I work flexible hours, including Saturday mornings.

Online sessions are available to couples, individuals and families, which allows for quicker and easier access to therapy sessions.

Why this approach?

Although also trained in systemic and psychodynamic therapies I chose to specialise in Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) because it is a logical and rational form of therapy, which has the added benefit of giving clients helpful tools and processes, which they can use for any future difficulties.

Clients prefer and trust the process for this reason – many report finding it a surprising, engaging and constructive experience.

It is not formulaic or a one-size-fits-all approach, nor a hotchpotch of many therapeutic approaches. I work with individuals, couples, young people (12+ yrs) and families. I’m DBS checked and cleared.

How do I work with this approach?

I help you to work logically and rationally through your difficulties in order to gain new perspectives and to find a range of solutions that are individual to you and which fit with your life – if they are realistic and manageable they will be easier to maintain.

Solution Focused Brief Therapy offers an ideal way of dealing with anxiety, panic attacks, depression, couple conflict and the present inhibiting effects of past trauma.

Rather than letting them continue to bog you down and destroy your peace of mind, it encourages you to gain control of your situation and make changes that will free you from those influences to move forward.

Being as brief as you require, Solution Focused Brief Therapy is not a talking shop which drags on forever, draining your purse.

Solution Focused Therapy

Solution Focused Therapy works well for a range of problems including anxiety, depression, trauma, self-esteem, relationship difficulties, cross-cultural issues, career difficulties and many life changes.

Clients whose lives are generally running smoothly but who just wish to discuss a single issue with someone neutral, also find it an excellent form of therapy for sorting out this issue quickly and effectively.

I thoroughly enjoy working with people and they report back on a positive counselling experience with me.

Clients have to be prepared to do some work and make some changes, but this doesn’t have to be an unhappy and negative experience. It certainly doesn’t have to be long-winded. I place great importance on establishing a good therapeutic relationship which is confidential, non-judgmental and empathic and where you can feel comfortable discussing and resolving difficult issues.

Flexible Hours

I work flexible hours, including evenings and Saturday mornings, so arranging appointments which suit your schedule need not be a problem.

I counsel clients throughout the UK and abroad. Clients who work flexible hours or work from home find this particularly suitable since they can now access my services to fit better with their working week and family commitments – many do sessions during lunch hours or before work in the mornings.

University students whose university counselling services are often oversubscribed find this a quick and affordable way of accessing sessions and like this time-limited approach.

Past Experience

My past experience has included working as a therapist for two large national charities. I prefer to work full-time in private practice.

Private practice gives me the opportunity of offering a confidential and truly professional service where the client is valued as an intelligent, competent and unique individual.

When you book my service you know you will be seeing me, unlike large organisations and agencies where you will be assigned to whoever is available and often an inexperienced trainee.
