I welcome those who need to unburden their troubles and unravel their muddles. I am resilient enough to hear your darkest stories and hopeful enough to know that we can all grow.
I have experience of counselling people with trauma, as well as anxiety, depression and day-to-day worries.
I have a special interest in disability, hidden disability and chronic illness; body positivity/ neutrality; self-esteem; work issues; stress; and political or environmental worries.
As a person-centred counsellor, I won’t diagnose, advise or judge you. I will always listen, be honest, believe in you, and help you to untangle your issues. You’ll set the pace and the focus, my only aim is to help you to accept & believe in yourself.
I’m trained in mindfulness (MBCT), creative counselling, (using clay, photography, art, colour, drawing, stories and poetry) – as well as coaching, telephone counselling, dyslexia, personality disorder, mental health, information, advice, and guidance, leadership and management, safeguarding and more.
I know that finding a counsellor can be daunting. It has been a difficult time for many and we all need somewhere safe to offload.
I hope you’ll find me to be an open, accepting, and understanding counsellor who is always attentive and empathic. I believe in growth and always see the good in people.
I am a big fan of remote counselling, I find that using the phone or online can be just as empowering and effective as if we were in a room together.
In fact, sometimes it can be easier to share deeper feelings when you are somewhere you feel comfortable and relaxed. It is more accessible too.
I have 20+ years experience of working, and leading projects, in charities; where I worked with people who have experienced mental health issues, homelessness, disability and with older people.
I have worked as a counsellor in agencies for male survivors of sexual abuse, with NHS workers on the Covid frontline and for Mind
I love to work with people to find self-acceptance and perhaps to realise their goals and rediscover their choices, moving towards finding hope, and emotional peace of mind.
I offer a free, 30-minute no-obligation introductory consultation.
This is a great way to see if we click, and I am someone you think you would be able to trust, on what could be an enlightening and empowering journey together.
L4 Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling (Dip Couns) and a registered member of the BACP (MBACP).
I’m primarily a person-centred counsellor, also trained in mindfulness (MBCT) and creative counselling.
I have sessions Monday to Thursday between 10am and 6pm.
Please note that I check my messages during business hours only, and I may not get back to you straight away if I have other appointments.
