My name is Ruth Andoh-Baxter and Transcend is my private practice.
With a 3-year Advanced Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy and 1000+ practice hours, I have the professional qualifications, experience, and knowledge of therapy modalities to support you with your mental health.
My private work through Transcend includes monthly 1-to-1 supervision as required by the National Counselling Society (NCS) my accreditation/registration body to ensure best practice.
Imagine a world where there were no problems, disagreements, prejudices, ill-health, wars, injustice, poverty, negative behaviours, unconscious biases, relationship breakdowns, or death?
Me neither.
Life will have ups and downs.
Imagine your world where problems could be understood and managed with tailored coping strategies enabling you to achieve self-actualisation and personal contentment whatever life throws your way. Balance.
Being individually empowered is about the promises you make to yourself. No one else.
Together we can restore your confidence, self-esteem, self-worth and resolve presenting concerns.
Based in Surrey Hills for in-person counselling.
Online therapy allows me to work with clients nationwide within the UK and abroad.
To date this includes France, Scotland, Germany, Canada, Germany and the Middle East – please do reach out.
Therapy is about listening and helping clients to help themselves – it is about together working towards an identified objective, mutual respect, and collaboration.
This is the way I like to work.
EQ – Emotional Intelligence is a quality that can help us forge more positive relationships using empathy as a foundation and, when things go wrong in life as they invariably do, we can focus on acceptance, ownership, healing, restoration and conflict resolution.
That’s empowering!
Wherever you are on your personal journey, our lives have purpose.
Your individual purpose is not comparable to anyone else’s – it is all about you.
It’s what makes you feel complete, content and at peace with yourself. It’s what earths you. Therapy can help us to navigate relationships more positively.
It starts with you.
Between June 2019 and January 2022 I was part of the team at the Richmond Borough MIND Psychotherapy & Counselling Service volunteering to provide individual psychotherapy/counselling for clients weekly.
This included peer/1:1 supervision aligned to the BACP and NCS frameworks. Clinical work 250+ practice hours.
Throughout the year, I undertake Continuing Professional Development (CPD) courses and training workshops, keeping abreast of the latest developments.
